Musical Instruments
At Play/Music we have a large collection of instruments for kids (& adults) to explore and try out!
- Piano with clear plexi cover so you can see the moving parts inside while playing!

The Musicolor Method™
- Several of these instruments are part of a special edition collection of rainbow colored instruments that all use the same matching colors in chromatic order (ROYGBIV!).
- Color-coded sheet music can be used to be able to instantly play lots of favorite tunes!
- Kids can play the studio favorite; 'What's Your Favorite Ice Cream', within just a couple of minutes! It's very catchy and parents tell me the kids sing it at home all the time! (I get it stuck in my head a lot, too.)
Waldorf Style Play Area
Play/Music also has amazing and large Waldorf and Montessori inspired play area (hence the 'Play' half of Play/Music!).
Some of the most notable and favorite toys include:
- The large house tent for kids to play and hide in; with doors, windows, and a beanbag chair inside.
- Large Marble Run set with LED light-up glow marbles
- Cash register: Kids love to use all the wooden pieces to set up shop!
WOOD TOYS
- Large wooden train track with lots of specialty pieces and remote powered train car.
- Large set of wooden blocks.
- Wooden animals, trees, and people (to go with train or blocks).
- Large 3-story wooden house; with furniture, home decor items, music instruments, and little people/pets. (We don't call it the 'doll' house to be more gender-inclusive - boys love choosing how to set up the different rooms in the house!)
- Handpainted wooden puzzles (from super easy to very hard!)
- All kinds of wooden pieces of tons of different shapes and sizes! Rainbow stacking: cubes, circles, spheres, smooth stone shapes, rings, flat rectangles, bowls, wave and fire shapes, and more. We also have a whole sorting tray full of small wooden pieces of unique shapes and colors. Kids can get really creative with their imaginations here!

Meet the creative play space original designer

My mom Amy Sherman helped design the amazing play space when I first opened Play/Music in January 2021. She owned a very special and unique preschool in Florida for ten years that was inspired by nature; the best preschools in the country such as Montessori and Waldorf; and her own unique original ideas.
Amy has always been a lover of creative toys and early childhood education, and has watched kids play and see which things they love the most for several decades. She searched for and collected together the best of everything she discovered during those years, and gifted them all to me when I first opened Play/Music! Since then, I've been somewhat (OK a lot) of a toy aficionado myself, and have added tons of awesome new items to the mix! |
