Lisa Madeline Frimberger
Hi! My name is Lisa Frimberger and I am the owner of Play/Music Sacramento and author of several creative music instruction books. I love learning and teaching music! Teaching beginners is one of my specialties - kids or adults - I love being able to give someone a new skill.
Unique Approach to Piano Lessons
I teach traditional piano lessons with a unique twist using my published books, Darkwave Nursery Rhymes and Music Theory Matrix. These books transform traditional nursery rhymes into minor keys, making them spooky and fun, and include humorous music theory songs and easy-to-learn pattern-based compositions. I also provide additional instructional materials and have an extensive collection of sheet music.
Musicolor Method
The Musicolor Method is a teaching approach I use to make learning music fun and easy. By assigning different colors to each musical note, students can quickly understand and remember musical concepts. This method helps with reading sheet music, identifying patterns, and understanding music theory. With the Musicolor Method, even young children can start playing songs and improvising; and helps students of all ages and abilities develop their musical skills more effectively.
Improvisation and Composition
In addition to unique traditional methods, I teach improvisation and songwriting/composition using computer software. This modern approach allows students to explore their creativity and develop their musical skills in a digital environment, making learning even more engaging and versatile.
Experience
With over 10 years of teaching experience, I have worked with students of all ages, from 2 to 70, and have experience teaching children with autism.
The Treasure Rewards Program
The Treasure Rewards Program is designed to make kids LOVE their music lessons! Students earn gold coins and diamonds during lessons, which they save in a treasure box stored in the piano bench. Periodically, students can cash in their earned treasure for various prizes from the treasure rewards chest. This program adds an element of excitement and motivation to their learning experience.
Thank you and I can't wait to hear from any future students! :)
